Who We Are The Wilchester Men’s Club (WMC) is a charitable, 501(c)3 non-profit organization, providing neighborhood men, living as permanent residents zoned to Wilchester Elementary the opportunity to socialize and network, while giving back to their community. Focused on youth outreach, education and neighbors in need, its purpose is to support individuals, organizations and charitable causes in the areas of west Memorial and Spring Branch. The WMC raises funds to support its mission through membership, donation, and the hosting of several events. Notably, each year the WMC hosts the Pecan Bowl Football Tournament, Spring Classic Softball Tournament, WashtoberFest, and a neighborhood date night. In addition to these, the WMC also hosts regular meet ups where men in the neighborhood can socialize and discuss the efforts of the organization. |
Education According to Spring Branch ISD, 58% of the over 33,000 students in the school district are considered “Economically Disadvantaged” and 52% are considered “At Risk of not graduating high school”. In addition, low-income children have less access to books and computers and parents are less involved in school activities. The WMC directs its resources to help overcome these limitations. |
Youth Outreach Understanding the importance of a strong, healthy community, the Wilchester Men’s Club is committed to providing opportunities for children to succeed, both in school and as a productive member of society. We are dedicated to working with area organizations and schools to enhance the quality of life and provide wholesome and productive opportunities for under-served youth. |
Neighbors in Need Many times, members of our community are faced with challenges that create stressful and traumatic disruptions to their normal, daily lives. Through our efforts and resources, we are able to help families or individuals with either financial assistance for much needed services or by enlisting the support of volunteers to help with household tasks or special projects. |
